Pool, Cave and Fishes

Our second day in Bantayan was full of adventure. We rented a boat for 1500 pesos to take us to Virgin Island, which is known for its untainted beauty. We began sailing at around 7:30 in the morning. It was a long trip, only the heavy, playful waves made the journey exciting.

When we went to Virgin Island a few years ago, there was no entry fee and cottages didn’t exist, and then we were surprised when we got word that it had now an entrance fee of 500 pesos (for 2 people). It was a bit unsatisfying because the fee was too expensive.

So instead of resting on the island and spending a great deal of money, we resolved to move to the Bantayan Island Nature Park and Resort, wherein you only have to pay 200 pesos and you can enjoy all their amenities which includes Fish Spa, Infinity Pool, and the Cave.

The pool was apparently built for swimmers. It was an Olympic sized pool with 6 feet as its depth. I would enjoy swimming  there for a little longer if only the weather wasn’t too hot.

The main attraction here in the resort is the Sto. Nino Cave. It was a small cave, but its features were magnificent. The water inside was a mixture of salt and fresh water, so it was so clear and cold, making it a great place for swimming. The tour guide was both funny and kind, making the whole trip awesome. The cave easily became one of my preferred places in Bantayan.

Our last activity in the resort was the Fish Spa. It was my first time to experience a Fish Spa, so it got me a minute before I submerged my feet in the water full of flesh eating fishes. My parents and cousins were clearly enjoying the experience because of their smiles and laughs, so I decided to join them as well. They were right. It was a fun experience, and I want to do it again next time. The fishes loved my feet, and they were very proficient at their task.

After exploring Bantayan Island Nature Park and Resort, we travelled back to our resort and enjoyed our lunch which was composed of mouth watering seafoods.

Indeed, it was a fantastic day.
